The site now allows members to create their own tournaments and invite their friends. I will monitor the first tournaments to make sure everything goes as planned, please let me know if you find any problems.
Below are the answers to the questions I expect you will have.
Who can create a tournament? Only established members can create tournaments. Each established member can have only one active tournament. Any QueenAlice member can be invited to participate in a tournament.
How do I create a tournament? Go to your My Games page and find the "Organize a Tournament" link on the right side box.
How many participants can I invite? Each tournament must have between 4 and 20 players, including yourself.
What kind of tournament it will be? All user tournaments use the Swiss pairing system. Each participant will play a single game per round (or none if he/she gets a bye). Players who lose on time are disqualified.
How do I specify the number of rounds in the tournament? You don't. The system will choose the appropriate number of rounds based on the number of players.
How do I invite a friend to my tournament? Go to your friend's player page (by clicking on his/her name) and then find the "Invite to my tournament" link on the right side box.
How do I accept or decline an invitation to participate in a friend's tournament? Go to the tournament page (by clicking on the link sent to you by email, or by finding the tournament on the My Tournaments page) and click the "Accept" or "Decline" links next to your name in the participant list.
My friend doesn't accept nor decline his invitation. Can I remove him/her myself? Go to your tournament's page and click the "Remove" link next to your friend's name.
I invited all my friends. Now how do I start the tournament? Go to the tournament's page and find the "begin the tournament" link on the right side box. Note that all the participants must have accepted your invitation before the tournament can start and the total number of participants must be between 4 and 20.
Let me know if you have any other questions that I missed here.
Enjoy!

Hi, Miguel, glad to hear it! Congratulations on your job!
Miguel, I've translated this post to portuguese, where is the best place to put it? Should I post it here, as a reply, or do you prefer to create another announcement, with the port message?
I've created an experimental tournament. :) The only question I have - and I believe other players would have it too - is if we will be able to create Schuring(Round-Robin) tournaments, or use the same system of QueenAlice's official tournaments(small groups using Schuring inside).
Thank you a lot!

Thanx Miguel, it is great!
I don't understand one thing: only swiss pairing system? and if only 4 or 6 guys in a tournament? It would be fine if we can make a round-robin in this case... anyway, thanks a lot!

only swiss pairing system? |
For now, yes. I may add round robin later on. The Swiss implementation on this site allows 4 or more players, so you can still have your tournament.
