1 m/d with a time bank of 14d. Very good, blunderful.

Another method is to have the pairings ready for all the 9 rounds, so all the participants can have opponents and can play the games of the 9 round swiss simultaneously. The player having the highest score wins the swiss tourney.

The pairings can be based on the player's rating, so the 1st round can be easily determined. Then for the next 8 rounds a simulation will be made based on the player's rating again, the player with the higher rating is always assumed as the winner of the game and if two opposing players have the same rating the game is assumed as a draw. By this method a round per round simulation produce the pairing list for all 9 rounds, there is a flaw but it will be a fast tourney and the days per move can be longer. I think it can still produce a deserving winner. Participants should have a minimum 100 games played so that their rating is an established one, we have to avoid new players that are strong but still have a low rating because with this system having a low rating always paired you at the bottom of the pairing list. :-/

But that's not a Swiss tournament! The whole point of a Swiss is that, from the second round onwards, everybody plays against somebody with (roughly) the same score as himself. That cannot be done except by playing the rounds one after another.

It's important that people play others with the same score as this means that the tournament ends up being close to a round-robin for the players at the top of the list, which means that their placings are reasonably accurate.

Not exactly the same as the round robin because no two players have identical opponents. The fun in a Swiss tourney is the number of participants, more can play. And you dont know who'll win even up to the last round, a lowly rated player can still surprise the top seeds. I think the method I suggested is does not take the fun, much faster and is still a Swiss tourney. I think we can experiment on this. :-D
