Not sure what the last post meant. But study the endgames too; I forgot to say that - they are very important.

I've seen somewhere: 20 hours study - 200 hours play. :)
You must play a lot to get practice in using your knowledge. Study alone is nothing, you will not know how to use what you've learned.

study is important, but you still have to understand what you are studiyng. where does it bring you if you play 20 moves of theory, get a good position but you dont understand your position and finaly you loose. i can only recomend to start with the endgame since most of the games are lost there (not won) due bad endgameplay.

Exactly. This his how I won most of my games. It's almost unbelievable how much players of strenght similar to me, just don't know what to do when they enter the endgame.
