The Philippines has 2 new GMs and very young at 14 and 19.

Th 14 year old is W. So and 19 year old is D. Laylo.

Wesley So is listed as second strongest player from the Philipinnes, behind Rogelio Antonio, and with an ELO of 2526 just a cap of 3p. But although I heard/read on other sites also that this 14 year old kid is GM, on the Fide Januari Ranking List it still says International Master. On this list, Darwin Laylo, 5th. from the PHI.,ELO 2508, is G.M., but on his I.D.Card it saus, he is born in 1980, so, he is not 19, but 28 or 29 years.

I got these from the local news.

Finally I found the confirmation from another FIDE related site, that Wesley So became GM by the end of last year. Although, on the country statistics, the Philippines have got five GM`s at the moment (and another two inactive) , strange enough, on the country top players list (see link above), published in January, are only mentioned four. Behind Wesley So`s name is still standing International Master. (next list will be published, only in april) But he is a Grandmaster indeed, as he is listed on a by the FIDE published list of youngest GM`s ever. (see below)
