Thanks, Ray. Actually, I think my friend, David (dlabedz), is #2 for the USA with less than 900 games, so I'm the only one over 1000 so far from the USA. Of course, there are several from other countries who have many more games than I do. BTW, I got up to about 70 at the same time once or twice here at Queen Alice, I think, but it was too many. I'm usually around 30, although I do another 30 at another site.

Nice to see my friend Tewald top the list.
I used to play heavily on QA as well but had to cut off. Used to be the most number of games and hit 1000 games first or second in this site and had plataued eversince.

Alib2004 had the misfortune to be forced away from access for a period of time (by his work, I believe); many took advantage of this to claim games and he dropped several hundred points. Of course, that made playing him a nightmare: He was now rated well below me, but still a much better player than I was! Not claiming wins on time cost me all those games and a LOT of points! I did finally win ONE game against him, though...

Tewald and others interested in their rating:
If you lose a game today and win one tomorrow you get more points for tomarrow's win (rating after 2nd game minus rating after first) than if you win both games. Hence your rating is determined by your performance in your last 20 games. The impact of earlier games is neglible.
Tewald: enjoy your status as the only american with 1000 games. You wont be alone much longer. If we maintain our pace I will catch up to your total in the summer of 2009, just before you reach 2000 games.

I confess that my endgame practice has inflated my completed games total. Since they average less than 10 moves a game they require less effort than a 40 or 60 move game. However improving my endgame play in over the board play is important to me. I acknowledge that those that claim I dont deserve to be in the top 5 have a point.
