Today was supposed to be the first day of my new system where I only play one colour on a particular day. But then I realised that another horrible loss is creeping up on me, so I thought I'd just get the agony over and done with and stick to my usual move a day policy in all my games.

So it's 'coming soon' ... so to speak. Both the loss and the system ...

I've toyed with other ideas; playing the openings, middlegames and endings on separate days.

Anybody else willing to divulge their particular system?

All the best,

Clive

I tend to scribble lots of lines next to my games so I can come back and ponder them again. Sadly, however, there's a limit on the number of characters one can type in there. This, for me, is a major drawback :-(

If Feature Requests weren't so swamped with ideas (many of them silly, unfortunately), I'd have posted the suggestion that this limit on our private notes box is significantly increased.

AN is of course Nimzovich. :-D

I also thought of deciding on a 'target result' after 10 moves or so, so I know whether to have my optimist's or my pessimist's head on!

And today most of my moves were fairly obvious. So I only left one or two for more thought! :-O

with the deep study of mein-system by AN, ideas behind chess openings by Fine, and modern ideas in chess by reti - I played with my own - real chess, not by the book moves. I dont prepare or think three or four moves ahead, and break that into more variations/branches.

I think when i was about to move, i weigh the board which side is heavier and which is not. which piece is pressured and how to release it.

hypermodern really helps a lot on my kind of play.

so for me there was no system is greater than the other, its the logical thinking of human, its the heart must play not the book.

My system is I play ten minutes with breakfast, only the obvious moves (openings, straight endings, required recaptures/ forced moves, and any follow ups that I pre-planned) I try to clean out the remaining waiting games in the evening when I have plenty of time (ideally after eating).
