How much coverage does chess receive on television in your home country?

I'm particularly interested in European coverage, because I'm doing some research for an EU funded project called Video Active, but information from other parts of the world would be helpful too.

None in NZ, I never even see it in the newspaper or the newspaper websites. Not even World Championships.

I've heard it shows up on TV now and then in the US, but I haven't been able to find it.

I haven't watched television for years.

Chess and TV don't mix. The reason for that would explain my first statement.
