From now on, I will monitor all games and end those that are expired but haven't been claimed or canceled.
However, I still think that it should be the player's responsiblity to end his/her own games when the opponent's time expired.
A player has two options to end a game that has been abandoned by the opponent: you can claim the game, which will make you the winner and adjust yours and your opponent's ratings accordingly; or you can cancel the game, which will just end the game without affecting anyone's ratings. The choice of which one to use is yours. If you are playing a tournament game then you can only claim the game, as all games are supposed to have an outcome for the tournament to advance.
To ensure that there are no games left in this state, the server will periodically check the game database. Any expired tournament games will be claimed on behalf of the winner. Expired non-tournament games will be canceled.

I had 2 games expired against terminator, but so they were tournament games, and i'm still playing 2 games agains JoeJodia in the same turnament, i thought not to claim the games because maybe terminator has had a good reason for not connecting to QueenAlice for 2 weeks. If the site cancels the game automatically, would be great if we can give extra time if the opponent deserves it, if he/she has a good reason (maybe except in tournament games for fair play).
Now i have a canceled game with only 2 moves. Can i delete it from my save game list?

I am sorry to disagree here. Even tournament games have to be claimed on time because what would be the point of even having time controls?
I think it is a total waste of time and what if after a nice opening you reveal a novelty specially prepared and your opponent decides to stop playing while wasting your opening surprise?
I think it is totally unfair and the only aceptable reasons are sickness or death... But then again, even in those cases forfeiting is reasonable...
I believe in claiming wins on time is fair and necessary.

My english is very bad and I didn't explain well.
My point was to leave me the option to give more time to the opponent EXCEPT on tournament games. I agree with you that tournament games has to be claimend on time for fair play, but friendly games (although rated) no.
We're here for fun, and i don't want my friendly games cancelled without my approval (is that word correct?)

Point taken, Gand. For friendly games I will use a much longer timeout (how about a month since last move made?). Also note that for these games the automatic action will be to cancel them so no ratings will be affected.
