Hi I was wondering if anybody regularly plays this openning where the
h pawn is advanced at an early stage in the game? I have been playing
this openning for years with better results than K4 & Q4 opennings. I
aslo play it as black but less often.

Personnellement, je ne pense pas que h4 soit une bonne ouverture, selon l'avis de bons joueurs de mon ex club, a voir ??

Personally, I do not think that h4 is a good opening, in the opinion of good players in my former club, see?

Your games are very interesting, not sure that it is the opening that is 'good', but just you being more 'comfortable' with it than your opponent (i.e. getting them out of book while you are familiar with the ideas). Anyway it seems to work for you, and that's what counts at this level.

I think Karpov won a game or two with 1.h4
That was long ago but at his level. The surprise element can work.

I can't find any examples of GM 1. h4 with my quick search. Any hints on the year / opponent?
