Hello all,
Vladimir Kramnik is one of the most polarizing figures in chess today, where people seem to love love love him or hate hate hate him. I am trying to gain more perspective on his achievements as World Champion from 2000 to 2005. Would you please list everything positive that Kramnik has done for chess over the last five years?
Thank you very much for your responses.

Vladimir who?

he has dodged many challenges to his title He will dodge Topalov as well. I watched the championship in Argentina. Kramnik "a.k.a. Count Drawcula" does not have a chance against Topalov

Kramnik has given us beautiful games, he has stood by principles, however skewed, while FIDE changes its rules with the moon's cycles, he has successfully defended his title (barely), and he has altered his opening repertoire, perhaps to his own detriment. He also has contributed to a resurgence of interest in the Petroff and Berlin defenses.
Prior to the past five years, he frequently played the Sveshnikov while others considered it too risky for top-level chess. Several games in Argentina followed that opening.

Kramnik feared a rematch with Kasparov. He had a chance to unify the title last year but cowered out of it. At top level chess he has made himself irrelevant.

Kramnik is ofcourse great player..He did not want another match against "The monster with 1000 eyes" because he wanted to be remembered as the guy who defated Kaspy..the only one.. But perhaps later will seem match between him and Topalov..I guess so..
