I just picked up Chess Assistant 8.0, and wonder if anyone here uses it. If so, how do you use it? I mean you, specifically; what do you use it for? Do you study openings or what? And how do you go about it? Thanks.

Hi. I use CA 7.1, but should be the same as 8.0. My favourites are:
1. Openings Encyclopedia.
2. Extracting high quality master games (using Elo filter) in a certain opening line that I'm interested in. Usually, if I'm playing say White, I would download all the won games by White first and play through them in my Pocket PC (which I carry around with me all the time). Then, if I have time, download the rest to see where White went wrong (but rarely get the time to properly do this).

I'd to have also a Pocket PC. How much is it cost right now, what brand do you suggest, kinds of chess software it has, etc. Your info would highly be appreciated.

sakhan, I use verizon and just downloaded it utilizing there get it now feature. i don't know what you would have to do with other types of phones.
