Does anybody bother to use the move reminder option?I've lost a number of games now on time and have never once received a move reminder.I'm a bit annoyed this time because it concerned a Queen Alice Anniversary Tournament which I believe disqualifies me from the tournament.

I use it almost every time. I don't like claiming games so will almost always send a move reminder when the time is up or nearly up and then wait 24 hours.

I have occasionally just claimed games when it looked obvious that my opponent was no longer playing any games. In that case, I like to wait until the players rating has dipped significantly to minimize the rating change.

Glad to hear.I must admit I don't always use it,though if a game is not a foregone conclusion, I will at lest give my opponent 2 or 3 days grace.
I sometime wonder why bother playing if claiming immediately on time, it makes the game a non event.

I don't send reminders but I often move quite slowly so I receive a few myself. All of my games are at seven days per move and if somebody can't be bothered to make a move after a whole week, I'm not going to go around reminding them and giving them extra time, which also holds up the tournament even more.

It's your responsibility to move in the time you agreed to when you started the game. I have lost a handful of games on time and I do find that very annoying. But I'm annoyed with myself for forgetting to book vacation time, not annoyed with my opponent for claiming the game.

I nearly always send a move reminder. It is each player's responsibility to watch his/her time, so I have no problem with those who do not wish to send warnings, but I find no harm in being considerate. I do wish there were some notification on the screen of just how over the limit my opponent is, though.
