In the last several months I have had 4 different opponents offer me a draw on the first move. This is ridiculous, if you don't want to play a game then don't but don't waste my time with a draw offer before the game has begun! If you don't want to play the game as it developes take up knitting since offering a draw on the first move is cowardly and an insult

I have experienced that too!

This is one of the tactics used by the cheats who use several aliases. They enter two or more names into a tournament but to their dismay are placed in separate groups in the first round. This is of no use to them, so they finish all games except the group with the weakest opponents in to ensure going through.
(please note: I no longer play on QA but watch with interest).

There are more than one culture here. What you may take as an insult may have been meant as a sign of respect.

Great now I know,if I I had the inclination,to be able to really insult my opponent,is to offer a draw at move one though apparently this would be totally lacking in courage.
They are obviously no longer interested in playing for whatever reason get it over and done with and agree to the draw then where's the waste of time?
