Ofcourse you have every right to write in french. In english we write Rc1. In french is it TC1 or Tc1. Bien sûr vous avez tout à fait le droit d'écrire en français. En anglais, nous écrire Rc1. En français est-il Tc1 ou TC1.

There seems to be some similarity between spanish and french. Must be the latin roots. I think in spanish D = Dama = queen and C = caballo = knight. If spanish also uses an upper case c and d for files than there seems a chance for confusion. This is important to me becuase I have trouble keeping score in OTB games. Sometimes I borrow my opponents score sheet. Some of my opponents are native spanish speakers and the keep score in spanish.

jujuju I am not sure that a translating website will know weather the custom in writing chess notation in spanish is to use the lower case or a capital letter to represent the file when writting chess notation in spanish. In fact I am not sure that a tranlation website knows chess notation at all.
