According to Wikepedia this game is the longest.
What a battle! 
Of note: Fide recinded the 100 move rule so now this game would be drawn much earlier (after 50 moves).

Chess is played on a square chess board. So length and width are the same. The longest chess game I know of was between 3 and 4 meters. I presume there are longer chess games that I dont know about.

Nowedays this games would have been finished after 161 moves, and would have more then 100 moves less.
Obviously, with the new 50 moves rule, this game will keep it's record forever.
