| In Shereshevsky's Endgame Strategy book, the author, says, White's K-side pawn majority is more of a reality than Black's on the Q-side. Can anyone explain why? |

I think that white can force the creation of a pass pawn but black cannont. Try practicing this endgame with only the King and pawns.
