This was definitely the worst day in the life of this site. My hosting provider finally found that another server that shares the same physical system as this one had a hung process that was consuming a lot of CPU cycles, we'll see tomorrow at peak time if that makes a difference.
I compensated all players with 48 hours of extra time that works as if everyone is on a 2 day vacation. You will notice that, for example, on 7 day games the time assigned will be more than 7 days, in two days times will be back to normal.
Sorry for the trouble.

Miguel, thanks for working this out. This is still, in my opinion, the best chess site on the Web, and incredibly addicting. That's why it's so irritating when we can't get into the system! I need my fix! Thanks, again, for providing this great site.
