Bcuz I'm playing at other site ,they have a tourney and this guy or gal always won in the tourney. This is free site also. There is humor that this player is using a program. This player just only lost in time ( 10 mins ).May be you could share some information if a player is using a program. Thanks in advance. voltesfive

The use of a move-making computer program is prohibited on this site, so I would like to think nobody is using them. Note that the use of other chess programs like game databases, etc. is allowed (and encouraged!).

I do not have automatic means of detecting cheating, so anybody that suspects cheating should let me know privately.

Computers usually play differently than humans, so given enough games it should be possible to detect if a player is making computer moves.

What I will do if I get a complaint is to have a few trusted members look at the games and give their opinion. If that confirms the suspicion I would ask the suspected cheater to analyze his/her own games move by move. If the cheating is verified the player will be banned from the site.

I think cheaters only cut in their own flesh. While they have no real fun while playing (it's not the cheater who solves the problems) their opponents will learn quite much from playing against a very strong (hidden) computer opponent.

If you think someone is cheating and you don't want to play against him or her, just don't do it anymore. Cheaters will lose their interest in very soon.

One way to find out is by using a database:

If the moves conform to a game from a database and the person can show where he/she gathered the moves, then cheating can be disproven.

cheaters are not real players if you look at several games of them it is possible to detect them just run their games trough several well known engines and they have played by this engine he will play allways exactley the same move

What about people who let enginges analyse the postion then get a list of moves in order of usefullness for them??

Surely these people can check the list to see everal equal moves and just pick which one best suits them that day?
