Penn: Mark Paragua in his early 20's will soon be the first super GM in Asia.
Duncan:Mark will probably be the first from the Philippines though! :-)
Penn:Woops! You got that right Duncan. The first from philippines.

What Penn and Duncan said it here might be correct but I don't know what is the USCF rating of Mark Paragua and his FIDE rating. Raymond Duque has a USCF rating of 2524 and his FIDE is around in the high 2400 or low 2500. You can visit and look Raymond's USCF rating at the US Chess Federation.

Please don't get me wrong. Again, I said they might be correct. Raymond is now residing in Texas. He was also from the Philippines.

Please don't be confuse. My rating is only 1500.

Mark Paragua (Mac Mac)became the youngest Filipino master ever when he was 9 years old. In August 2005, at the age of 20, he became the youngest ever Filipino Grand Master and is now the Philippines' top rated player.

Current FIDE rating : 2604
USCF rating : 2478 ( His last tournament in a USCF sanctioned tournament was in July 2000)

Okay I agreed. Thank you for the information rating of Mark Paragua. That's all I want to know because I don't know his rating. I just mentioned Raymond Duque because he has currently high rating between 2500 and 2600 and as I said you can visit and look for his name at USCF.

I think that what I heard is that Raymond is the highest Filipino rating in the USA. I don't know if that is true but that's what I heard. I could be wrong what I have heard but I think 2500 to 2600 rating is very high.

I checked the USCF rating of Mark Paragua. It was 2478 way back in October 2000. The USCF rating of Raymond Duque on that date was 2509. I also checked the FIDE rating of Mark at Chessgames.com it is 2604. Raymond is not a member of Chessgames.com so his name was not there and can not say his FIDE rating at chessgames.com. I'm referring Raymond's FIDE rating at USCF way back around in March 2003.

Well, As I said that I agreed that maybe Mark is the highest Filipino rating but I'm also saying that Raymond has a very high rating at the present time.

Maybe Mark is the youngest Filipino master because of his age and I don't know what was the age of Raymond when he got his rating. Raymond is now 47 years old and residing in Texas.
