Just want to hear from our top players what ideas basic ideas come with openings such as queen gambit and other and how to formulate a real plan in the middle game. Thanks

I think ckasparov is very good to write in this column as he did with the Snyder wariaton... I am okay to write about my games som wild and fun but I can not made diagram here (I have try it!) so it is not fun to read it and I also dont know Queensgambit that is a shame on this Queen-server!

Thanks, Kári. But my nickname is csparrow, not ckasparov (God, defend me!):).
Naftaly: only in the Sicilians (and, perhaps,in the Reti) I can say I know some thing. I am bad in the open games and in closed games I play routinely, a repertoire with few options, as you will be able to see for my games. I think interesting, for beginners, read the Capablanca's analysis (in "My Chess Career" and "Chess Fundamentals") and, of course, Fischer's "My 60 Memorable Games".
Greetings,
Carlos.

Queensgambit is my cup of ale, and forming a plan in mid-game is fairly easy with QG, it depends on variation your opponent will choose, but each one of them has a main strategic point which should be a part of your plan, whatever it is.
To learn QG I'd recommend reading/analyzing some of the old school games, old school being like..a 100 years ago People (Alekin and the rest of the bunch) knew how to play QG back then..
