I think that the most problems of rating inflation here exist because of the "initial provisional rating" that should be a "fixed" value, not a generated one...

Anyway, QueenAlice is doing a great joob on Internet Chess Club. And I see Miguel is having some personal problems now. We should thaks him for the excelent joob done so far !

I believe that the site can be improved. Rating system... Personal Info, better forums (like the ones that alert you by e-mail when someone post a message on a forum you had posted early or the ones you wanted to...

We also could have something to create teams... Open our tournaments, etc...

I think we will have all this and much more on future. And as I like this place a lot, I will donate as soon as I get out of some personal problems...
And I will help, as I can, people on forums...

I will say this one more time: ratings that end with a 'p' are provisional, they mean nothing. If you see a 'p' after a rating then it isn't fair to assume that's the real playing strength of the player.

That said, I do agree that some people take advantage of the system by playing fake games, and I do want to eliminate that from this site. I will be making modifications to the rating system soon, but first there is a server move that I need to complete to solve the down times.

Miguel
