Here are a couple of the new options in the Advanced Menu.
Buddy and Ignored lists
You can now build lists of members you enjoy playing with and that you want to avoid. To add a player to one of these lists just open the player's stats page and in the right side box you will have links to add the member to your Buddy or Ignored lists.
In the Home section of the advanced menu you now have options to view and edit your two lists.
Who's Here and Online Options
The Who is Here page will show you what members have been seen on the site lately. It is a good way of finding active players to challenge.
By default all members show their online state to others, but you can configure this in the Online Options page. Possible options are to show your online state to everybody, to your buddies only, or to nobody. No matter what you select here, your online state will never be shown to members in your ignore list.
This will be the foundation in which I plan to base an array of real-time functions that I hope will complement correspondence chess.
I think I am destined to be forever buddyless. I have tried to add a couple of people to my list and I keep getting a message telling me that it couldn't add the person to the list and that there was no-one on my list. Waahh!!!
