Topic: How does a double-round-robin tourney work?

I originally thought that everybody played everybody. My tourney has 12 players, and so I thought I'd get in 22 games when I was done.
I see text elsewhere about advancing out of group -- does this mean that only the top 2 of each group (3 groups of 4 people in my tourney) play in the 2nd and final round?

Only the winner (or winners) of each group advance to the next round in the double round robins. This continues until there is only one group left.
