Have you been in a situation where you have managed to keep the equilibrium but have to play on because your opponent is waiting for you to blunder something even if the position is clearly even?

Well, this is what I tell myself to motivate myself:

I WILL NOT BLUNDER!

Though, it is a good idea to play on an equal endgame to provoque your adversary into blundering. I want to be ready for these situations and cope with them the best I can.

I've lost a lot of games that way...

So have I! But I have also won many games like that when I provoque my opponent into playing a position that he doesn't like and that he know is drawn. :-D

Recently I played two games against Adclaran and dnptrs and I felt that way. I knew I could draw but I had to watch out for tricks and problems to avoid losing those games.

Maybe you had to play on because if your opponent accepted a draw it would end his winning streak and he was winning in another game, so he keeps your drawn game going until after he wins the other game.

Any interpretation is quite alright. My problem is that I tend to relax and blunder when the aim is close and I was motivating myself not to ruin two very important games for me. I am alright with having to play on but I need that extra motivation to avoid blundering...
