I have tried to place one of your banner on my site but it doesnt seem to work
could you please send me a html code that works

Check the HTML code. The culprit is
<img src="banner.gif">
Change it to:
<img src="http://queenalice.com/images/banner.gif">
If you don't, the browser will look for an image named banner.gif on your site.

I prefer that people download the banner and host it themselves, that way if one day I decide to reorganize the files on this server you won't have a broken banner.

No, QueenAlice does not do link exchanges. If you want to advertise on this site you have to do it through Google AdWords.

If you prefer that people download the banner and host it themselves, you should indicate that on the "link to us" page.
Some hosts - particularly blog hosts - may not allow us to upload our own images.
