Why is this site so EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW to load??

It's inconsistently OK, slow or just unavailable for me via WOW in the Detroit area, miguel.

Until about half an hour ago, the DNS for the site was completely unreachable, from several networks in Greece and the UK. This seems to be happening several times a week at the moment.

same thing in Belgium, for the past 24 hours or so.

Slow is one thing, unavailable is another. My hosting company is setting up a new server for me, there seems to be some hardware problem on the current one that is causing the downtime. In a few days the site will be running on a new server and hopefully that will stop the downtime.
The slow access (i.e. more than a couple of seconds to load a page) I never see from here, will ask about this to my hosting provider.
