I am a person who loves the play that can follow from e4 but HATES playing the sicillian, does anyone have any suggestions for me or am i doomed to find a new found passion for a different opening  .

Play e5 in response to e4.

Play 1...e6 in response to 1.e4

ryanwilson, you're still young and it's too early to hate the sicilian. play and learn all the openings and savor every bit of it. when you get older, found a career and raised a family, you'll regret having failed to explore the mystery of any opening.

I have played the French for almost all of my chess life and only rcently started exploring the Sicilian... Not to mention the fact that I missed all the joy of not learning the open games properly 1.e4 e5

Its not as much as i hate playing the sicillian on the defence as black, as much as i find it hard to respond to it as white.I love playing openings such as the ruy lopez, but i get burned by the sicillian each time.
