Topic: 2000 rated player in my intermediate tournament

Hi. How did a 2000 rated player get into our "intermediate" tournament? I checked his rating history and it hasn't gone below 1800 in a very long while. Just curious.

He was much lower a month ago when this tournament started. Check his rating graph.

Well, there isn't a time scale at the bottom of the graph so it is impossible to tell. By eyeballing the graph, I could estimate that his rating has been above 1800 for rougly the last 75% of all his games. He has played 94 games so far but has 53 in progress. I suppose he could have joined and then his rating shot up real fast. I didn't notice what his rating was in the first round because he wasn't in our bracket. So I'm not sure if it's a bug or just a case of his rating jumping up after a bunch of wins. I can send you his handle if you like. Thanks for the help.

I found him myself and checked his rating. I'm positive he was below 1800 a month ago.
