One more question.

Does a round-robin with 20 players last 19 rounds??

No, a 20 player swiss is done in 5 rounds.

A straight round-robin with twenty players means each player has to play nineteen games. In an over-the-board tournament, this would mean nineteen rounds because you can only play one game at a time. In theory, dere, it would be just one round, with the games played simultaneously.

However. 1) User-created tournaments can only be Swiss, which means you don't have as many rounds. 2) Round-robin tournaments on Queen Alice are actually double round-robin -- everybody plays everyone else with both white and black (so thirty-eight games each in a straight 20-player event). 3) Round-robins here are organized into groups so you only play the other people in your group.

38 games at once wouldn't be as bad as a super long swiss where you can only play one game at a time. Well, actually 38 is a little extreme, maybe 5 at a time.

Anyway, do you know how many rounds a 20 player Swiss system (on Queenalice) would entail?

Thanks! :)
