Right now, the "Who Is Here" page puts green circles next to twenty users but the little graphic at the bottom of the page says that only fourteen are online. kloosterveen has noticed this at other times.

you can choose not show your online status

That's the wrong way round. The "Who is here" page gives the names of twenty people who are prepared to admit to the world that they are online. The little graphic only includes fourteen of them. It should include all of the people who are prepared to have their online status known, at least.
