The longest game I ever found, and of which I believe
that it is the absolute record holder of official
competition chess games, thus not engine chessgames
or correspondence chessgames, is the following;
Nikolic - Arsovic 1/2 - 1/2
Belgrade 1989
269 moves
20 hours and 15 minutes

Well Gill,
I do 25 moves at the time.
Then I control if it is allright that far,
before I screw up 538 moves... 
...and I still didn`t figure out the moves 200-269,
by not repeating 3 X same position...

This record is possible to be broken but it will take long before it will break. Maybe it will take many, many years or even a hundred years.
