Hi,
I can't work out how to castle. I don't think I have been in check. Little help? Thanks.

I am black and I want to castle from D8 to A8.

You can't castle from d8 to a8. Only e8 to c8.

To castle, move your king two spaces to the left or right and the rook will move automatically. Your king and the rook you're castling with cannot have moved and there must be no pieces between the king and the rook. You cannot be in check and neither the square you're moving the king to nor the square it's jumping over can be attacked. (But the rook's square can be under attack, as can b1/b8.)
If you're talking about your game with danco69, you can't castle because you've moved your king from e8 to d8.
