Yeah, he was a new player, that rating is still only provisional. It's not accurate until he plays 25 games, same as the CFC(Canadian Federation of Chess). The good thing is, you didn't lose any points. If he loses a game, he'll lose way more points by being provisional. After those 25 1st games, the most points you can lose or win is 32.
