Well, You have reason and to be honest; French people really have a unic accent. I have a French mate and his Portuguese speaking is almost terrible. That's mean that is not only for English. But I have already heard some Frenchman speaking German, and they speak very nice, I think that German and French have a close accent to speaking.

Well, It could be but It's very boastful from your culture.
I have heard that there's a kind of hostile "friendship" beetwen you, French people and English people, is it true? or it's a overreact?
Most of Frenchman do not like people from the island and most of the people from England do not like French people... Something like this I heard.

When it comes to the question of the relationship between French people and English people, considering history, I would call it "story of love and hate"...
The "100 years war", William de Conqueror, Alienor d'Aquitaine, Jane of Arc, the blocus during the Napoleon wars....and so many other events...
I think that English people do not like French people...of course, there can be exceptions ! 
But generally speaking, you cannot consider that the French people do not like the English people : it is just they do not care... %-)
French people are, generally speaking, very self-centered, proud of themselves, and in fact, I must admit most of them have a sort of "complex of superiority", of course, this is not very easy to have normal relationships with "strangers" in this case.
