As Duncan mentioned, it happens very sporadically. Also what happens occasionally is the board will load but some images on the board will be missing as indicated by the torn image symbol. The missing images are either pieces or some sort of image that's used by the board coordinates as the coordinates have the torn image symbol by them. A refresh of the page usually cures that though.

I've experienced something similar using Netscape Navigator 7.2.
On a couple of occasions since the move to the new server, pieces have been "missing" from the board until I refresh the page. On the first of these, both Queens were absent in one of my games! But I saw no symbols of any kind to indicate broken images and the board looked otherwise normal.

I use firefox 1.0.7 and have never seen this problem...
