In a few weeks I will be traveling to Brasilia for a work assignment that will last 5 weeks. I have been there twice before, but for shorter times and my colleagues from my company's Brazil offices were always with me. This trip is long enough that I expect I will have some time on my own, as I can't really expect my Brazilian colleagues to take time away from their families every night and every weekend!
So I am wondering if any of you Queen Alice members from Brazil can give me some advice on things to do during my free time.

rhsatrhs:
I went to Brasília only once, in 2008. Brasília isn't a city like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Fortaleza, Salvador etc that the tourism is a strong activity and there are a lot of things to do. In Brasília there aren't beaches, forest, theaters etc like in other places in Brazil.
However, the beauty in Brasília is... the proper city. It's very interesting to know the history about the construction and the project, because Brasília is a planned city and you can learn many things about the brazilian history. I suggest you to visit: Memorial Juscelino Kubitschek (museum), Esplanada dos Ministérios (avenue), Praça dos Três Poderes (square), Catedral (church), Igreja de Dom Bosco (church), Palácio do Alvorada (president's house) and the buildings in Plano Piloto.
In Lago Sul (South Lake) and Lago Norte (North Lake) you can visit some bars, restaurants and other places.
It's important to say: because Brasília is a political city, on weekends the city "dies". Many people go to Brasília only between Monday and Friday to work (the politicians). So, on Saturday and Sunday, there are few people on streets.
Well, I think that I help you.
Greetings!

Thank you for the advice. Obrigado. (That's all the Portuguese I know, but I think after five weeks I will learn a little more!)
