I think the option to resign or offer a draw to your opponent should still be available even if it is not your turn.

Often after making my move, I re-examine my position and sometimes find that I have made a very bad move indeed and that I would rather just resign. However, this option is not available?

I agree with you. And yes, this option isn't available.

That is why they often say in chess 'Don't move until you see it'
This is a rather a unique idea intelligent enough to distract your opponent while he is calculating at his move in real time chess.

I agree with Tal0n. It could save time. And sometimes it takes a move on our part to convince the opponent that the game is (most probably) drawn.

This suggestion has been made before, also by myself. It should not be too difficult to implement and besides, it is also an option in over the board games. So why not here?

In boardgame you make your move, offer draw, and then press the button on the clock. And you shall write "=" on your scoresheet.

Well if I just flip the chess board up into the air will that work?? :-O

(there is a "flip" option available)
