The vacation system is rather hard to use. Once you click submit there is no message confirming your vacation or anything to that effect.
As a result I took double the amount of vacation required. All the other sites I play on allow me to cancel vacation when I return, how do I do this in Queen Alice?

You don't. But you can still make moves, if you want, while on vacation.

Absolutely. But, unfortunately, you waste your vacation days.

Yes there is, though it could be clearer. In blue, at the top of the schedule vacation page, it says, 'Your vacation has been scheduled' and the boldface message 'You have [number] vacation days left until [date]' is updated.

If you go to your "My Stats" page it will show your vacation status.
