Bergman has 4584 elo. Is he Anand camoufled?

Why not is the actual World Champion? :-D

He has been debated in other threads many times. You will find all the answers there.

I was planning to start another one shortly; not along the usual "yah-boo Pierre" lines but to encourage him, Lorfman and Cunha to play each other (at least occasionally).

Ok, i've readed all these post now. Sorry for a new.

Then, is here the elo calculation as in reality?

In a word no. It is a cumulative system as opposed to a 'predicted score' system (which is the 'true' Elo rating system developed by the famous professor). Bergman plays enormous numbers of games against weak players and has accumulated most of his points in that manner, as you have probably gathered.

However, whatever his true strength, he is certainly a good player who can beat most people outside the top 100 on this site (including myself) with some ease.

Thanks for the answer and speed!

And sorry by another question... Why don't the reality elo calculation works here?

Because the system Miguel uses is the one used in the USA for (old-fashioned) correspondence chess. (See the 'About this Site' page.)

The problem as I see it is that lumping all sorts of games together (1 day to 14 day time limits, etc) only exacerbates and exaggerates the intrinsic weaknesses of a cumulative rating system.
