Someone else will have to comment about whether
the "Invite a Friend" can be used that way, but ...
Your friend has to create an account anyhow so ask him to do that first.
Then it is very easy to challenge an existing member from their stats page (right side).
The FEN box is clearly displayed on that challenge page.
