This is serious Phys, at least in my opinion. He was doing good work uncovering dishonest players and subsequently had his identity compromised by one of those players.
I suppose it is a matter of opinion but having players with multiple accounts playing in the same tournament is pretty serious to me. It makes computer-aided players seem only somewhat annoying and Elche's 300 games quite benign.
However, you are correct. Not enough people took notice or interest, and he has left the site.

One person entering the same tournament twice is a problem. OnlyJoking1 took it a step farther.
