Hi, I would like to know, if it is possible to draw any conclusion from queenalice rating to ELO? At the moment I have 2100 Points in queenalice. Can anyone say, which ELO rating is equivalent to this?

The ELO here is very broken, however there seems to be talk of a very rough correlation which may be something like FIDE ELO will be ~200 points less than QA. There are some obvious outliers due to the broken ELO here.

Not true. The implementation of the rating algorithm is correct and works as designed. Could be improved, yes, but it is not broken.

The ratings of two completely different organizations (FIDE and QueenAlice in this case) cannot be compared, as ratings are by definition only a measure of performance relative to the other players within one organization.

In terms of Elo rating the following mean that it isn't quite right:
1) The +-400 cutoff for provisional is quite distortionary. A lot of players don't reach a stable ranking until ~100 games.
2) No penalty if losing to a provisional player (inflates rating)
3) The minimum 1 pt for a win means top end rankings are inflated.
4) Players can select their opponents or tournaments to join (meaning the randomisation criteria isn't strictly met). Not sure if this has much of an impact, but it can be gamed in theory.
5) Lots of timed out games / lots of sign ups that quit.

Not saying that I could do better though ;-)
physicstutordotcom started a thread trying to find the elo correlation here with FIDE a while back and I think the -200 was his finding.

I've just done a google search of QA, and all the players that had a FIDE elo claim in their title had a QA elo within roughly 200 points of that claim (some above but most below) so it can't be too bad.

Agreed with whyBish. In previous versions of this thread, a lot of people came to the QA ~ Elo + 200 conclusion. That's no precise correlation, but a good starting point.

Apart from the rating inflation remarks by whyBish, there is also the matter of this site being correspondence chess. The Think function lets you move the pieces on the board around to test what might happen, which is not allowed in over the board chess. These two factors should also allow for a slightly higher rating in QA vs club chess.

The think function is available to both sides so should have no effect on the ELO system.
However, the point that players have different proficiencies for different types of chess is valid.
