Meu lema é o seguinte: morrer sim, mas não sem sangue, quem quizer me ganhar que me mate, porque suicidio eu não cometo.
O ato de desistir é somente para casos em que realmente vc não tem nenhuma chance de virar, ai sim vc estaria retardando o inevitável.

Continue as long as you want! If your opponent is better than you he/she will prove it and you can learn a lot from them, so playing on is the right choice.
If they struggle to finish the game, then fighting on is the right choice.
If YOU win, then fighting on is the right choice.
Abandon the game when it has no interest for YOU. One of the facts that we all know when we start a game is that we play on until checkmate, stalemate, draw by repetition/lack of material, draw by agreement or until one of the players resigns. Anyone who is upset that you don't resign should keep their thoughts to themselves and work hard to win cleanly. Simple!
