Agree that mostly everything possibly should be done to avoid terrorist attacks.
But where is the limit?
Spokesmen of Facebook and Microsoft admitted the day before yesterday that they did recieve (and responded to the most of them) resp. 30.000 and 40.000 requests from the C.I.A, N.S.A & F.B.I.only in the first trimester of this year. Yesterday it was the turn of Apple to admit that they responded at about 10.000 requests a month to U.S. agency's. (today or tomorrow it will be the turn of AOL, Yahoo etc.)
Today the headlines in the newspapers is, that the U.S. and British Government hacked the phonelines and E-Mail of the Russian and Turkish staff (including Medvedev & P.M. Erdogan) at the G8 & G20 meetings last year and early this year in London & Northern Ireland.
After the confincing proves Mr.Snowdon produced to The Guardian and Hong Kong & Chinese newspapers, the US Government admitted requesting info to the big rede's to avoid terrorism. The next day they admitted that it also concerned the matters of high crime and missing persons.
So, where is the limit in breaking into private information of the citizens. Tomorrow it concerns also burglary or even shop-lifting, while most of those people are as innocent as you or me? Is it just because they have different thoughts and idea's then the Government, which allows the last to break all the rules?

Lets be nice.

I think we can all agree that it would be great if there was no need to collect this information. If not for the SEP 11 attacks I dont think Americans would tolerate this invasion of their privacy.

The issue here is which is the lesser of 2 evils. But lets not forget that both are bad. I am willing to tolerate the gov't knowing what phone numbers I call and how often I call them if that will prevent terrorist attacks. How do I know if it really does prevent attacks? How do I know that if they listen to my conversations. Do they read my emails?

I choose to cautiously tolerate the gov't collecting limited information. But we must allow MrDJVRD and others to continue to challenge them to keep them in check.

I am also careful not to make any jokes that would set off red flags becuase I fear the gov't collects more info than we know.

Your reply to MrDJRVD is not appropriate for children to read. I copied it and sent it to Miguel. It is my guess that he will delete it.

You may want to rewrite what you wrote. I think you can convey your anger towards MrDJRVD without using text that would be objectionable to parents.

Perhaps MRDJRVD is someone you might want to avoid. Giving the choice between 2 chess clubs you might choose to play at the one he does not play at. However, if there was only one chess club would Mr. DJRVD prevent you from playing chess?
While, I have not read everything he has written I have not read anything that would indicate he is racist. You do not indicate that there is anything to substantiate your other accusations. So, I will presume they are an outragous hyperbole.
I wish you would talk more about danger of cuasing the public undue fear and the benifits of data collection to promote public safety.

When people doubt the sincerity one statement they doubt all your statements. I guessed that what you wrote after garbage was not intended to be taken literally. Hence I assumed that the the previous statements were sincere.

I think, phystuttordotcom, that most possibly should be done to avoid any terrorist attack and I do understand the N.S.A. etc. even if they get their information on an illegal way, as I in fact stated in my first sentence on this subject. I probably did not make myself very clear. It is like you said the choice between two evils. I admit that if I was born american I probably would agree with their methods.
But there are two points though, which I wanted to bring under attention.
The major part of my grieves are against Yahoo, Facebook etcetera, who promise your account to be confidential, which now seems it isn't. (As I predicted, also Yahoo admitted that they gave access to about 10.000 accounts to the US agency's) They can't recall on their nationalism to give away personal information of their 'International' clientele.
My grieve is defenitly NOT against the US and British Government in case of tracing down terrorists or possible future terrorists.
Only I put a note;
If you start stealing, let's say a chocolate bar, to steal a C.D. becomes more easy, after that the CD-player and so on.
So, getting the confidentional information from persons the US government suspect to be a terrorist or future terrorist might be neccesary, and for them at all cost. But after done that for a while, stealing CD -players, in their concience it becomes very easy to get info on other matters the same illegal way, from all kind of citizens all over the world, stealing their chocolate bars. The US reached already the point that they are even spying on their allies. Remember that Turkey is a member from the NATO since the beginning.
Rest to know what is the next they want to know and who is cencuring them. For sure not the big shots from Facebook etcetera.

The real question American people should be asking themselves is: Are they preparing to feed you, or are they preparing to kill you?

Need health insurance? The Obama administration has you covered. Simply dial 1-800-FUCKYO to reach the next available health-care provider.

Far from being a mistype, that’s the official number that Health and Human Services wants Americans to dial when seeking health care. Obamacare’s national call center really did list its number as 1-800-318-2596, helpfully spelling out President Barack Obama’s tendency to blatantly flip the bird in plain view.
