My dad passed away yesterday. He lost his battle against cancer.
He was, in part, responsible for the existence of this site, first because he introduced me to the Game of Chess when I was a little boy, and later because we learned how to program computers together.
He was a member in the early days of this site. We played a few games (he won or drew always) and he helped me test and ensure things were working correctly. If it weren't for him this site would still be English only, as he insisted that I translate it into Spanish, our native language.
My dad and I weren't very close lately, but I was lucky to speak with him hours before the end.
I hope he is in a better place now.

Mi viejo falleció ayer. Perdió su batalla contra el cáncer.
Fue, en parte, responsable por la existencia de este sitio, primero porque me introdujo al mundo del Ajedrez cuando era chico, despues porque aprendimos a programar computadoras juntos.
Fue miembro en los primeros tiempos del sitio. Jugamos algunas partidas (ganó o hizo tablas siempre) y me ayudo a verificar que todo funcionaba correctamente. Si no fuera por el este sitio estaría solo en Inglés, ya que él me insistió para que lo tradujera al Español, nuestra lengua madre.
Mi viejo y yo no estuvimos muy unidos ultimamente, pero tuve la suerte de hablar con él horas antes del final.
Espero que ahora esté en un lugar mejor.
