I am testing 4 sites - QueenAlice, ChessHere, ChessManiac and SlowChess - to see which one I like best.

The other 3 sites have the number of players displayed on their homepage. ChessManiac and SlowChess have about 32,000 while ChessHere has about 16,000.

I could not find any information about how many players QueenAlice has anywhere on the site.

Would the webmaster like to tell me how many accounts have been registered so far? Or do you wish to keep it private? Approximate values (e.g. about 40,000) are fine.

Check the id you got assigned, that'll give you a rough idea.

The "Who Is Here" page shows information that is, in my opinion, more useful than the number of accounts.

My ID is 6599. This means there are about 6,500 players on this site. That is pretty low compared to the other three sites.

However, I don't judge a site just by the number of players, and I find QueenAlice to be a pretty good site so far.

Perhaps you should consider openly publishing the number of accounts there are on this site - some, like myself, take this into account when choosing sites.

About 6600...

:-D

BTW, if you told in other topic that this site is so active as others you saw with 32000 players, than I think we should keep our number of players in secret! :-D

I mean, if someone just look 6600 and decide try another bigger site, just looking the number of members, he would never find out that here he will be at home, with good, friendly and active players!

And doing so... he will be trapped by the numbers. Numbers dont say anything! 8-)

That number is irrelevant. Go to the "Who is here" page to get an idea of the number of accounts that are active. Not sure if other sites tell you that information though.

I've played ChessHere and Queen Alice, and much prefer Q.A. Better players, more challenges sent and accepted, handy message capabilities, and a great looking site with a great opening brower. Quality over quantity -- assuming the other sites even have the numbers they are reporting...
