Can a game be drawn if it reaches 50 moves without a Checkmate?

Yes, but the server doesn't detect it automatically yet, you will need to notify your opponent and offer a draw. If the draw isn't accepted send me a private message with the game and I'll close the game.

That won't be closed it has to be 50 moves without moving a pawn or capturing a piece. Good attempt at trying to draw the game though

juve_leo, I think it was not an attempt. He asks
"50 moves without a Checkmate?"
so I can imagine he doesn't know the 50 moves rule.
It was discussed here in the forum before, and I tried to find without success.
The rule states that a game is draw if you make 50 complete moves (100 plys or half-moves) only of reversable moves.
That means, unreversable moves like moving a pawn, capturing, promoting or castling make the count start again.
Cheers,
Beco.
