Surly you don't think everyone should conform to your standards. The term bigot comes to mind. One of the best things about America, you have freedom to dress as you please. Are you infering that France has a dress code? Absolutly no polyester in France?

I think maybe what you have unknowingly did, is let slip the kind of places you frequent. Be careful, some of those women might have a handle where you least expect one! :-P

I'm not infering they have a dress code, just that theres unwritten rules of class that people everywhere tend to ignore. America as a rule is classless but there is classiness in some small pockets here. I blame the philosopher John Dewey and the damage he did to our education system on americas overt classlessness, think about it: Nascar, bowling, and "wrestling" are popular here is a reflection of how little class america has.

just curious Philidor, at what point in your life did you feel the need to look down on others? You seem to have placed yourself on a pretty high pedistal.

Some of us find Nascar boring and wrestling worse. It doesn't make us any better than others. Or any "classier", either. Some of us are willing to admit who we are, our age, etc., and some prefer to hide behind the reputation of someone long gone. I don't find the latter to be a particularly classy attitude, but to each his/her own, I suppose.
