I see them, but don't know how to do it. I wish to take one of my existing games and play it differently from a certain move. I wish to do it as a non-rated game with one other Queen Alice member. I don't see the option on the controls. Suggestions?

Thanks,

Jerome.

Hi Jerome,

Well, there are some ways to do this. Lets try one of them:

If you have Winboard installed (or any program that can give you the FEN position), them you can do as follow. If not, you allways can install it from:
http://www.tim-mann.org/xboard.html

1- Copy the PGN of the game you want, from QA to the clipboard.
2- Paste the game from Clipboard to Winboard.
3- Forward the game till the position you want.
4- Copy the FEN position from Winboard to Clipboard (menu FILE, item: Copy position to Clipboard).
5- Challenge your friend at QA, and then paste the FEN position from clipboard to the field POSITION at Advanced Game Settings.
6- Click challenge buttom if all other settings are ok for you.

That is it!
Try and tell me if you could do it.

;-)

That worked, thank you. Actually, it is really easy to create a FEN position by hand. One is printed each time you look at a game of yours, and definitions of the FEN syntax are easily found online. Be sure to review your position right away and cancel the game if you got things wrong!
