He reach 1000 opened matches (1000 times ). If you have other suggestion to award a prize to a very likeable opponent that gives us lot of amusing matches (some matches looks like brawls)... well, thanks Marcel

I second that!

I second amed66's proposal as well . There's also a thread on Campbell Marcel in the Chess Discussion section of this forum.

I think they should give him a medal, seriously, all those games must take alot out of ya! He played well against me (though I still won :D )I'm black:
1. d4 f5 2. g3 Nf6 3. Bg2 e6 4. Bg5 Be7 5. Nf3 O-O 6. O-O d6 7. Nc3 ( It is obvious here he plans on blasting through the center, more appropriate for this plan would be an immediate 2. Nc3, a sound system for white ) 2... Nbd7 8. Re1 Nb6 9. a4 a5 ( prevents 9... a5 and the Nb6 must move, and give up controling d5, a key square ) 10. e4 fxe4 11. Nxe4 Nxe4 12. Bxe7 Qxe7 ( the central break wasnt a good idea as the side with less space benefits from trades ) 13. Rxe4 d5?! ( I left e6 backward, and the Nb6 looks misplaced but control of a4 is essential as latter you see a surprize defense ) 14. Rh4 Bd7 15. Ne5 ( makes way for Qh5 + puts knight further up the board ) 15... Bxa4 ( no better is 16. Rxa4,Nxa4 17. Qh5,g5 defending h7 while threatening the rook ) 16. Qh5 Bxc2 17. Rc1 Bf5 18. Bh3 g5 19. Rxc7 Qxc7 20. Qxg5+ Qg7 21. Qh5 Bxh3 22. Rxh3 Rac8 23. Qd1 Nc4 24. Nf3 Qg4 25. Rh4 Qxf3 26. Qa4 Qxf2+ 0-1
This was such a great game, next time I won't be so tempted to create a backwards pawn while giving an oppertunity to improve there possition.
